A Look at Beyoncé’s Most Glamorous Renaissance World Tour Outfits

Get into formation ladies, we’re discussing Beyoncé Renaissance world tour outfits!
Much like Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour outfits, Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour looks are no regular DIY job — they involve several hours of work, inputs from world-renowned designers and a stylist posse as well-coordinated as KJ Moody, Shiona Turini, Karen Langley, and Julia Sarr-Jamois to call the shots. With her seven-year live performance sabbatical behind her, Beyoncé undoubtedly came out guns blazing for each sold-out show — packing in every famous couturier you could think of. From archival Mary Katrantzou and Marc Jacobs creations, biomorphic embellished armour by Alexander McQueen to diaphanous ensembles by quiet-luxury-approved Loewe, Acne Studios, and Louis Vuitton, Queen Bey proved she’s not called an icon for nothing.
Ever since she kicked off her hotly anticipated Renaissance World Tour in Stockholm — emerging from the skies atop a bedazzled horse — every look has been a testament to Beyoncé’s exceptional sartorial prowess and her commitment toward Black and Asian designers. To commemorate Juneteenth, an annual holiday marking the end of slavery in the United States, Beyoncé exclusively chose brands owned by people of colour.
“Everything I wore for Renaissance World Tour tonight was created exclusively by Black designers,” the singer wrote on Instagram. The impressive lineup included Feben, Maximilian Davis for Ferragamo, Olivier Rousteing for Balmain, Ibrahim Kamara for Off-White, LaQuan Smith and her own designs for Ivy Park. Later performances saw Indianwear designer Gaurav Gupta getting added to the mix.
A shortlist of Beyonce’s Renaissance tour outfits includes recreations of a vintage Mugler bee headpiece and custom bedazzled Miu Miu jorts; metal-and-mesh pieces from Balmain “Renaissance Couture” capsule; a blood-red Ferragamo gown, full outfits in Valentino (or Barbie) pink, and much, much more. Scroll through to see how each of Beyoncé’s Renaissance tour outfits came alive on stage and the frenzy it ignited amongst us eagle-eyed fans.
Loewe designed the crystal-embellished catsuit in collaboration with costume designer Shiona Turini. Featuring hand motifs that enveloped the singer, the catsuit was a customised iteration of a similar piece seen at Loewe’s fall/winter 2022 runway show. With Jonathan Anderson helming the project, the bodysuit blended futuristic concepts with theatrical, disco-era aesthetics; high-shine crystals, latex, and 3D-printed leather pieces. Notably, Beyoncé wore matching black opera gloves with red nails poking through to match the cheeky costume.

Queen Bey stepped out in this sublime recreation of Mary Katrantzou’s trompe l’oeil perfume bottle dress from the designer’s fall 2009 ready-to-wear collection. The surrealist creation took the form of a sculpted waist with a short, structured bodice. She accessorised the yellow-black mini with a custom bottle top headpiece made in collaboration with Stephen Jones, embellished opera gloves, and leather thigh-high boots.

New York designer LaQuan Smith crafted this silver, shattered glass bodysuit for the singer’s Amsterdam stop. It was one of the many Black designers Beyoncé chose to honour on stage for the Juneteenth holiday. She paired the plunging piece with an equally disco-worthy cape and heels — all as part of her elaborate plan to match with her bedazzled stage horse.

Now that Sarah Burton has moved on from Alexander McQueen, we wonder who’d be next in line to dress Queen Bey for her next world tour? There are big shoes to fill, considering how fans were treated to a bevy of high-octane creations like a lace-and-sequin enmeshed bodysuit or a customised deep maroon mini dress that first met the world at the label’s fall 2023 ready-to-wear collection. Each design embodied Beyoncé’s metal-meets-stage vision and breathed new life into her Renaissance tour performance.

From PP Pink to Barbiecore — Beyoncé knew she was bringing summer’s hottest trend to the stage with her selections. For two of the many designs, she chose from the Italian brand, one happened to be this form-fitting bodysuit which was layered under a cape with knee-high boots and feathered shield sunglasses.
With her Philadelphia outfit, Beyoncé leaned into some disco drama with this custom Valentino look. The focal point was the seemingly never-ending sequined train that connected to the exaggerated bodice of the bodysuit. After all, no one loves a puffy, billowing sleeve more than Pierpaolo Piccioli. She paired the flashy piece with coordinating boots.
Although the Grammy champion gravitated toward Piccioli’s aesthetic for other segments on the world tour, nothing beats the two more theatrical selections from Valentino.

Olivier Rousting’s ensembles took central stage at Beyoncé’s Renaissance world tour with several pieces now being categorised as “robot-core”. One of the first collaborations took the form of a custom Balmain look that featured a silver skeletonised bodice that paneled the singer’s bodysuit. She paired the piece, which gradually extended into gloves, with a pair of knee-high boots. “In the industry where we have to all fight, I want to thank [Beyoncé’s] support last night [to] all the Black designers that had created their own space in this tough industry,” Balmain designer Olivier Rousteing said. “This was the celebration.”
A more dramatic on-stage outfit came with a bee-inspired catsuit which she paired with a coordinating top hat. The snakeskin fabric, complete with claws wrapping around Beyonce’s waist might be the first bee outfit on this list, but it’s definitely not the last.

A sight only worthy of seeing live, Beyoncé brought one out of the archives from Mugler’s Spring 1997 couture collection. She kept the bee theme rolling with a yellow-black architectural body armour accentuated with towering antennas, bug-like sunglasses, and her signature leather thigh-high boots. There’s no escaping the beyhive, it seems!

All of Beyoncé’s Renaissance world tour outfits can be on one side but this OTT, “Alien Superstar” Richard Quinn one-piece deserves some special treatment. Maximalist and experimental, the outfit saw legging-style pants with large crystal embellishments and a peplum-inspired top finished with similar adornments. The focal point of the ensemble was inevitably the UFO-like headpiece that covered everything but the singer’s eyes. Of course she had to ditch the gear for her performance but the drama was on point.

Give Beyoncé a chance to up the ante, and she’ll do it better than most A-league performers. For one of her many looks of the night, the 42-year-old singer emerged in a white bell-sleeved Anrealage coat that, when exposed to UV light, turned into a kaleidoscope of colors. The Japanese brand —the brainchild of Tokyo designer Kunihiko Morinaga, inducted their light-dependent polychromic technology into the coat and ensured no one could escape its iridescent charm.

The mastermind of haute couture brought her signature style to Beyoncé’s Renaissance wardrobe for her first night in Amsterdam. The custom look, which took over 700 hours to make, featured a sublime translucent train paired with a sculptural mini dress.

Marine Serre is no stranger to futuristic prints and body-hugging silhouettes. Crafting a more provocative fit for her Illinois performance, Beyoncé stunned in a custom silver look. The star wore a fitted bodysuit, complete with the brand’s signature moon motif, as well as chain undergarments layered on top. She threw in a structured metallic hat and silver boots for good measure.

When life gave limes to Gaurav Gupta, he proactively crafted it into a neo-saree that would go on to grace the all-mighty Beyoncé. Known for his cord work, Gupta’s headwrap-included saree gown from the brand’s fall/winter 2023 collection featured an array of cleverly placed cut-outs and a thigh-high slit. It was one of the only times that the singer chose such an electric shade of green for her look.

Perhaps, the most dramatic of all Renaissance tour outfits, Beyoncé birthday performance saw Pucci’s archival “Giardino” print do all the talking. Blurring the line between catsuit and second skin, the one-piece was heavy on all sorts of colors, prints, and external embellishments. Naturally, Beyoncé wanted more. She added a matching fan and cap to finish the look.
