Get acquainted with the Escale dress watches of Louis Vuitton

Louis Vuitton introduces its Escale dress watches after the well-received debut of its sport-luxe Tambour automatic timepieces last year.
Consisting of four models – two in rose gold and two in platinum – Louis Vuitton’s Escale collection marks the introduction of the first time-only, three-hand timepieces into the Escale collection, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year.
Like the Tambour, these 39mm Escale watches are distinguished by subtle Louis Vuitton signatures. The classic LV trunk is a key inspiration: the riveted brass brackets and corners used to reinforce the trunks, for instance, gave rise to the rivets on the watch’s lugs and dial.
The nails that run along the edges of the exterior of a trunk inspired the gold studs dotting the watch’s minute track. Even the grained centre of the dials – in blue or silver – of the rosegold models is a reference to the textured surface of Louis Vuitton Monogram canvas. (The two platinum models feature dials with meteorite or onyx.)
Within each watch beats the LFT023 self-winding movement with a rose-gold micro-rotor. It is the first proprietary three-hand automatic movement designed by La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton in collaboration with movement specialist Les Cercle des Horlogers.
