Anant’s watch collection had already garnered attention during his pre-wedding ceremony in Jamnagar. Over the last five months, we’ve also seen the Ambani ladies rock some of the largest diamonds and emeralds in the world. The couple’s post-wedding parties are still ongoing, with rumours circulating that they may go to London to continue celebrating their wedding.
A royal extravaganza befitting the heir to a billionaire mogul, this wedding had everything, from luxurious attire and exquisite food to expensive jewellery, A-list performers, and renowned guests from all around the world. As we wait for more information to emerge on the Ambanis’ post-wedding parties, let us take a closer look at Anant Ambani’s magnificent brooch collection that has piqued the internet’s interest.
Anant Ambani donned a star-shaped diamond brooch to his pre-wedding ceremony in Jamnagar, with a big heart-shaped diamond in the centre. He wore the brooch again for their second pre-wedding party on the Italian coast, which featured performances by Katy Perry, Pitbull, and the Backstreet Boys.
The gorgeous brooch quickly drew attention on the internet, with jewellery experts attempting to figure out its price. According to reports, the centre heart-shaped diamond appears to be a D-color flawless stone weighing between 30 and 35 carats. This suggests that the centre stone alone would cost roughly USD 3.5 – 4 million. More than 100 oval-shaped diamonds and baguettes surround the central stone, potentially bringing the cost of the piece up to USD 4.6 – 5 million.
Next up in the brooch collection of Anant Ambani is the most talked about brooch of the event: the Cartier panther emerald brooch that the groom wore during the Mosalu and Jaimala ceremonies. The brooch was an engagement present from his brother Akash Ambani, and features a massive 720-carat Zambian emerald fashioned by Heeramaneck & Son, as well as a Cartier Panther crafted from white gold, sapphires, emeralds, onyx, and diamonds. Akash had the piece personalised by Cartier to represent his brother’s love of animals. According to reports, the brooch boasts a price tag of more than USD 1.5 million.
For the main wedding lagan ceremony, Anant Ambani wore an elephant-shaped brooch adorned with diamonds, featuring a pear-shaped solitaire on its head. This piece reflects his love for wildlife, which is evident from his work with Vantara, a wildlife preservation project aimed at providing a safe haven for wild animals. Various sources report that this stunning brooch costs around USD 1.7 million.
For the Sangeet celebration where Justin Bieber set the stage on fire, Anant wore a sherwani made by Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla, which was embellished with actual gold thread. However, the true star of Anant’s look was his Royal Bengal Tiger brooch, which had a gold Royal Bengal tiger studded with yellow, white, and black diamonds perched upon a huge ruby. The ruby was set in a base of white diamonds and smaller rubies, making it the showpiece of the evening.
For the Hastakshar ceremony in Jamnagar, Anant wore a bespoke lion brooch made of vivid yellow diamonds, paying tribute to his love for wildlife and Vantara. Designed by renowned jewellery designer Lorraine Schwartz, the lion brooch featured yellow diamonds and green emerald eyes. But the true showstopper is the massive 50+ carat oval-shaped diamond carried from its mouth. And if that’s not opulent enough, the extravagant lion also rests on a platform of Asscher-cut white diamonds. Schwartz works closely with the Ambani family, and has designed many pieces for Ambani ladies as well as the bride Radhika Merchant.
The Ambani family began the AR wedding celebrations in Jamnagar, Gujarat. For one of the festivities, the groom-to-be Anant wore a light peach kurta with a matching jacket custom-made by Raghavendra Rathore. He donned a brooch that resembles a Ganpati idol, with Ganpati being a Hindu god who removes obstacles from one’s path. The stunning brooch, which is adorned with small diamonds all over, added a religious element to his outfit.
Anant Ambani’s love for brooches isn’t a newly-embraced wedding trend. In 2023, for the opening ceremony of the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) in Mumbai, the newly engaged Anant and Radhika arrived in matching black traditional outfits. While Anant’s bandhgala sherwani featured diamond and emerald buttons, it was his Kalangi diamond brooch that stole the show. The brooch was studded all over with smaller diamonds and topped with a pear-shaped diamond, marking the highlight of his ensemble.
On October 31, 2023, Isha Ambani hosted the inauguration of Jio World Plaza, which Anant and Radhika attended while twinning in black. People immediately noticed the white diamond-encrusted brooch on top of his custom Manish Malhotra Sherwani. The gold brooch featured diamond and emerald accents on the idol’s crown and neckpiece, as well as a pink stone-embedded dupatta.
Anant Ambani doesn’t have just one, but two Royal Bengal Tiger brooches in his collection. A diamond over 100 carats typically costs over USD 22 million, making this Kalgi a perfect fit for the groom of the most expensive wedding in the world.
While “something borrowed” isn’t a traditional ritual at Hindu weddings, “sharing is caring” still holds true. During the main wedding ceremony, Anant Ambani wore a rare jewellery piece from his mother Nita Ambani‘s exquisite collection. He chose a bazuband, an ornament worn on the biceps, which was once Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan’s kalgi. The kalgi, which is made of antique spinel, rubies, and diamonds, reportedly costs USD 24 million.
