World-renowned luxury house Bvlgari collaborated with MIKHA TAMBAYONG for an enchanting journey of renewal that started in Rome, the maison’s city of origin.
Far from being a stranger to the spotlight within the glitz and glam of show business, Mikha Tambayong embodies a talented icon synonymous with charm and modern sophistication. In a collaboration ignited by Bvlgari, Mikha visited the eternal city of Rome – the ancestral home of the world renowned luxury brand – to experience the historical grandeur and cultural wealth that inspired the revolution of fine lifestyle.
In a conversation with Prestige Indonesia, Mikha tells the story of her journey in Rome with Bvlgari, how the brand’s values resonate with her own, as well as the causes close to her heart. Donning prestigious jewellery pieces from the brand’s Eternally Reborn campaign, Mikha flourishes under the spotlight, combining her stellar persona with Bvlgari’s magnificent jewellery.
“Thank you for having me,” Mikha begins, her excitement palpable. “Rome was absolutely captivating. No amount of time spent would be enough in such a place of refinement. Every moment brought with it new adventures and discoveries. It was my first time in Rome, and the city’s culture, architecture, and history truly spoke to me.”
Mikha’s sojourn in Rome was far from ordinary. Her itinerary included significant landmarks such as the Colosseum and the Baths of Caracalla, each holding a special place in the Bvlgari narrative. “Visiting these places was like stepping back in time. The Baths of Caracalla particularly left a lasting impression on me. It’s the inspiration behind Bvlgari’s Diva’s Dream collection. Seeing the ancient mosaics and tiles that influenced the design of the jewellery while wearing pieces from the collection felt surreal. It was a magical experience,” she recounts with a sense of wonder.
The culmination of Mikha’s Roman experience was a visit to the place where it all began: the Bvlgari flagship store in Via dei Condotti, the brand’s most iconic store. “Being at the historic Bvlgari store, learning about the foundation and inspirations behind their collections, was deeply inspiring. The jewellery speaks volumes about the brand’s heritage and artistry,” she says, her eyes gleaming with admiration as she recounts her visit.
Back in Jakarta, Mikha continues to embody the essence of Bvlgari, now through a stunning fashion spread materialised by Prestige Indonesia to showcase Bvlgari’s exquisite pieces. This collaboration highlights the theme of the Eternally Reborn campaign, a concept that resonates deeply with Mikha. “The concept of rebirth, to me, signifies a journey. It’s about evolving, changing, and growing. We are reborn every day, and these continual moments shape us in the long run,” she reflects.
Mikha’s personal journey of renewal has been profound. “I recently got married, and it has given me a new perspective on life. Turning thirty soon, I see life through a different lens now. It’s about enjoying the little moments, being present, and finding joy in the everyday. Marriage has not confined me; rather, it has liberated me, allowing me to become my own independent woman with the support of my husband,” she shares with heartfelt sincerity.
As the conversation shifts back to the jewellery, Mikha’s eyes light up as she speaks about her favourite pieces. “I particularly love the B.zero1 collection. Inspired by the Colosseum, it’s a blend of history and contemporary design. It’s a versatile collection I can wear on any occasion, whether daily or formal. The Serpenti collection is also iconic and makes a bold statement, but B.zero1 is my go-to for its comfort and elegance,” she elaborates.
Her personal style, she admits, has evolved over the years. “My style has always been casual, but it has matured. I used to follow trends, but now I create my own style based on my own needs and wants. Comfort is paramount for me. When you’re comfortable, you exude confidence. I believe in dressing for the occasion while keeping things simple yet stylish,” Mikha advises, her philosophy on fashion refreshingly pragmatic.
Looking ahead, Mikha is enthusiastic about future collaborations with Bvlgari “I’m excited about working with Bvlgari again, perhaps even travelling to other countries or going back to Rome.” At the same time, she continues to make strides in the world of filmmaking. “I also have a new movie project that I’ve been working on. It’s a new genre for me, and it’s been a challenging yet rewarding experience,” Mikha reveals, her passion for her craft evident.
As an ambassador for health, education, and gender equality, Mikha remains committed to using her platform for advocacy. “Health and education are the foundations of everything. Being knowledgeable and curious about the world is crucial. I support proper education because it’s life-changing, and being healthy is essential to be productive and contribute positively to society,” she asserts.
