BMW Group Indonesia publicly presented the world’s best-selling business sedan that has evolved into 100-percent electric

As the automotive industry races toward sustainable mobility solutions, BMW is revving up the electric vehicle (EV) scene by introducing the BMW i5 eDrive40 M Sport in Indonesia. This all-electric version of the world’s best-selling business sedan, unveiled to the public at the recent BMW Exhibition, sets a new bar for premium electric driving.

With the automotive industry continuing its dynamic evolution towards sustainable mobility solutions, BMW is poised to redefine premium electric driving experiences. On this note, BMW Group Indonesia recently launched its latest marvel to the public: the all-new BMW i5 eDrive40 M Sport. 

The storied German brand unveiled this all-electric variant of the world’s best-selling business sedan exclusively at the BMW Exhibition at Plaza Senayan from May 17-19. In short, this remarkable new creation delivers a compelling fusion of innovation, luxury and eco-conscious design, setting a new standard for premium electric mobility.

At first glance, there’s the fresh take on the iconic BMW kidney grille, which now projects farther forward and features a wide surround as well as BMW Iconic Glow contour lighting. From the side, the high shoulder line, powerfully designed surfaces and two precisely traced character lines define the car’s sleek and athletic proportions. Its black side skirts add eye-catching touches to go with the panorama glass roof, while the powerful rear end stands out with flat rear lights.

Step inside the BMW i5 eDrive40 M Sport and you will discover a world of comfort and luxury at same time, no matter if you’re in the driver’s seat or in the rear seats. Up front, the cockpit retains BMW’s distinctive driver-oriented design with the BMW Curved Display system, which includes a 12.3-inch Information Display and a 14.9-inch Control Display. 

Of particular note among the car’s standout features is the Connected Drive system, which provides seamless connectivity and a range of intelligent services. It’s now running BMW Operating System 8.5 with QuickSelect, which allows the driver to access various functions and controls more intuitively.

Under the hood, the BMW i5 eDrive40 M Sport uses an electric motor to power its rear wheels and generates up to 340hp of power with Sport Boost or Launch Control active. The result of this powertrain is the ability to accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in just 6.0 seconds. Maximum range goes up to 582 kilometers by WLTP standards.
