Quick-Take: Mercedes-Benz’s GLC 200 AMG Line Night Edition

The GLC, one of the Mercedes-Benz’s most popular SUV models, is now enhanced with the introduction of the locally-assembled GLC 200 AMG Line Night Edition

When it comes to the SUV segment, Mercedes-Benz is well-represented with eight superb models, including the GLA, GLB, GLC, GLC Coupé, GLE, GLE Coupé, GLS, and G-Class. In a way, the SUVs are a major structural pillar in the brand’s product portfolio, and greatly contribute to the growth of Mercedes-Benz. On this note, PT Mercedes-Benz Distribution Indonesia recently unveiled the new, locally-assembled GLC 200 AMG Line Night Edition.

As the name implies, the new Mercedes-Benz GLC Night Edition comes with the AMG Line exterior and the new Night Package including front apron, rear apron and side skirts, and wing mirrors in high-gloss black, while the radiator grille with integral Mercedes-Benz star and louvres also in high-gloss black with chrome inserts and roof rails as well as the front and back underguards in black.

At first glance, the new GLC’s aim to keep raising benchmarks for SUVs is clearly palpable, as its athletic and aerodynamic body envelops an elegantly high-tech cabin. On the other hand, the LED lighting and polished details surely express the brilliance within, while the spacious and sensuous cabin inside rewards the driver and passengers on every surface.

Under the hood, the 2-litre petrol engine is fitted with variable CAMTRONIC valve timing — which heats up the exhaust system more rapidly — and a twin-scroll turbocharger, producing 197hp output and 320 Nm of torque. In essence, this increases agility, improves ride comfort and considerably lowers fuel consumption at the same time.
