Selling Sunset season 8: What can fans of the real estate reality TV show expect?

Hold onto your Louboutins, because Selling Sunset Season 8 is finally here, and it’s bringing more drama than a Hollywood blockbuster! With all the teasers, social media shade, and jaw-dropping revelations circulating, it’s safe to say that fans of the Netflix docusoap are in for a wild ride this season.
Premiering on September 6, Season 8 promises to deliver everything we’ve come to love about the series: outrageous drama, fabulous real estate, and, of course, a whole lot of spilled tea. Let’s break down what’s coming in the new season, from the heated trailer and episode details to the major feuds and explosive confrontations.
The trailer for Selling Sunset Season 8 wastes no time in getting down to business. Within the first few minutes, it’s clear that the agents at the Oppenheim Group are gearing up for a real estate, reality TV war. The trailer opens with the women of the O Group — Chrishell Stause, Mary Bonnet, Amanza Smith, Breana ‘Bre’ Tiesi, Chelsea Lazkani, and Emma Hernan — dressed to kill in designer couture as they prepare for the battles ahead. But as Tudum puts it, “Don’t let the couture fool you — the intense professional and personal trials that lie ahead for this group are anything but glamorous.”
One of the most intriguing moments in the trailer is a conversation between Chrishell Stause and Jason Oppenheim about Bre Tiesi’s uncertain future with the brokerage. After her dramatic exit in Season 7, fans have been wondering whether Bre will return to the fold. “I just assumed that she would stay at the brokerage, but I really don’t know,” Jason muses, to which Chrishell adds, “I do feel like we’re missing her at the office.” As if that wasn’t enough tension, Chrishell herself hints that the dynamics among the agents have shifted significantly this season. “I started this season in a good place with most of the agents, with always one exception, and the dynamics have certainly shifted. Pray for us,” she tells Tudum.

If you thought the drama was confined to the screen, think again. Over the weekend, just days before the season premiere, both Chrishell and Chelsea took to Instagram to unleash on fellow cast member Nicole Young. Stause didn’t hold back, accusing Nicole of being a “liar” and shading the show’s production team for allegedly “blindsiding” the cast with drama for ratings. “Someone needs to take my phone,” the 43-year-old wrote in her Instagram story, clearly venting some pent-up frustration. She added, “Are we really still giving air time to LIARS that just want air time??”

Lazkani wasn’t far behind, calling Nicole “the most diabolical piece of trash I’ve ever met.” Nicole clapped back by implying Emma Hernan, another cast member, was involved in an extramarital affair — a rumour that quickly spiralled out of control. This war of words has only intensified the anticipation for Season 8, with fans eagerly waiting to see how this tension will play out on screen.
One of the most jaw-dropping teasers for the new season involves Bre Tiesi breaking some devastating news to Chelsea about her husband, Jeff Lazkani. As seen in an exclusive clip shared by People, Bre reveals that a mutual friend saw Chelsea’s husband “making out in the lobby” of the W Hotel with another woman and that he’d been spotted “multiple times.” Bre tries to deliver the news delicately, saying, “I don’t know how the f–ck this is supposed to come out of my mouth right now,” but the shock is palpable.
Chelsea, who had previously criticised Bre’s family dynamics with Nick Cannon, is seen trying to hold back tears as she processes the revelation. This moment seems to be a turning point for Chelsea, who later filed for divorce from Jeff, citing “irreconcilable differences.” Will this mean a ceasefire between Chelsea and Bre, or will it just add more fuel to their fire? Guess we’ll have to binge-watch to find out!
Mary Bonnet (née Fitzgerald) has long been known as the peacemaker of the group, but even she isn’t immune to conflict this season. “I hate confrontation and knew it was bound to happen at some point,” Mary shares with Tudum, hinting at a major blowout between her and Chelsea early on in the season. Mary also faces rising tensions with Emma Hernan, leaving fans wondering what could have caused the unexpected rift. And speaking of Emma, she’s also caught in the crossfire with Nicole’s rumoured claims of an extramarital affair, which both Chrishell and Chelsea have adamantly defended her against. It’s a tangled web of he-said-she-said that’s sure to unravel as the season progresses.

As the Oppenheim Group approaches its five-year anniversary, it’s clear that much has changed. Relationships have been strained, alliances have shifted, and the real estate market itself is more competitive than ever. Yet, despite all the chaos, the agents remain committed to their careers and each other. “We’ve had agents come and go, I got married and have had a lot of personal changes along the way, the market has changed dramatically, and cast relationships have changed as well. It’s been a wild ride for sure,” Mary reflects.
This season will also continue to explore the Oppenheim Group’s expansion into Cabo, which has been a key storyline since Season 7. The new location could mean new opportunities — or new rivalries. Even long-standing friendships seem fragile, as seen with Chrishell and Amanza Smith. Their fallout, stemming from a group dinner snub in Cabo, continues to impact their dynamic. Amanza, who is back to work after her health struggles, has hinted that reconciling with Chrishell might not be in the cards, at least not without some serious conversations.
Additionally, Heather Rae El Moussa’s status is still up in the air. Absent from the Season 8 promotional materials and still dealing with the fallout from her reduced role during maternity leave, it’s unclear if Heather will make her comeback this season. Fans are left wondering how her absence might shift the dynamics within the group, especially as new agents continue to stir the pot and form unexpected alliances.
Mark your calendars and clear your schedules because Selling Sunset Season 8 is set to drop all episodes on September 6 2024. This all-at-once release means you can binge the entire season in one sitting and catch every gasp, every tear, and every “Oh no she didn’t!” moment without having to wait. Grab the popcorn, wine, and maybe a notepad to keep track of all the alliances and betrayals — this season is going to be a rollercoaster.
