Conquering the Ocean: Simpson Marine Unveils 2024’s Most Innovative Yachts

Simpson Marine presents a dazzling array of new vessels that each deliver the innovative design and technology expected from three of the world’s most renowned yacht builders.
The open water calls, and Simpson Marine, one of Phuket’s leading yacht sales and services companies, has just unveiled a stunning array of vessels from some of the most reputable yachting brands, each pushing the boundaries of design, technology, and luxury. So whether you crave a sleek performance machine, or a floating haven for extravagant nautical adventures, these are some of 2024’s best new yachts.
SANLORENZO X-SPACE
The extraordinary 44-metre Sanlorenzo X-Space – with five decks and a weight of 495 GT (gross tonnes) – is designed for those who love to explore faraway destinations, without relinquishing the unmistakable elegance of Sanlorenzo’s lines. This vessel, the first in the shipyard’s X-Space series, is designed around privacy. Bernardo Zuccon, of Zuccon International Project, worked closely with the shipyard to complete the unique exterior design, while the interiors were handled by famed designer Piero Lissoni. It features an 18-square-metre raised pool, in level with the main deck, and an expansive extendable terrace with sun beds and tables that can be rearranged to suit the owners’ preferences.
From the terrace, symmetrical stairs lead up to the owners’ aft deck, which overlooks the main deck and is clad in teak from floor to ceiling. Owners in search of added privacy can turn this area into the main social space, akin to a ‘yacht within a yacht’. Through this upper deck’s glass doors is a large lounge, leading through the office, and into the bedroom. And from here things lead out onto the enclosed foredeck with its large jacuzzi and lounge area.
SANLORENZO SL90A
The 27-metre Sanlorenzo SL90A, highlighted by its asymmetrical layout, retains only the starboard side of the bridge and eliminates the port side, which is moved to the roof of the structure, enlarging the salon on the main deck. This allows for more space and luminosity with full-height lateral windows facing the open sea. It features a cabin that benefits from a dedicated access to the bow area, while the fly bridge and the bow area are connected to each other – with a sundeck integrated into the full-beam superstructure. Additionally, the vessel’s ‘One Way Glazing’ dematerialises the perception of empty spaces, giving a sense of cleanliness and aesthetic continuity.
The unmistakable Sanlorenzo style is clearly visible astern, where the teak-covered aft platform looks like a deck, with spaces between pieces of teak instead of the usual joined look. Another unique detail for a yacht this size is how the lower deck is connected to the main and the wheelhouse by an open staircase, whose height exceeds five metres. The flybridge, meanwhile, is divided into three parts, and the upper deck is reserved for the galley. Both parts are protected by a fixed top – whose central part opens – with space leftover for three deck chairs or modular sofa/lounging configuration.
BLUEGAME BGM75
The gorgeously designed Bluegame BGM75, the first model of the brand’s BGM range, moves away from the “boxy” shape of a catamaran thanks to its reduced width in favour of a ratio between beam and length closer to a monohull. This allows for the horizontal surfaces between the two hulls of the 22-metre vessel to connect, resulting in a seamless lower deck and a full beam owner’s cabin, but with larger spaces of extraordinary dimensions. Its multi-hull also creates greater stability in the water, and a significant reduction in fuel consumption.
The BGM75 debuted at the 2023 Cannes Yachting Festival, after three years of meticulous research, and made good on its promise of unparalleled sailing comfort. With its forward-thinking concepts, the craft uses all its design capacity in terms of sustainability, in line with the objectives of the Sanlorenzo Group.
FAIRLINE SQUADRON 58
Fairline Yachts made waves across the industry with the concept launch of this stunning Squadron 58, which was showcased for the first time at Boot Düsseldorf (in January 2023). And its impressive ability to create a seamless flow by merging spaces, resulting in an expansive and harmonious living area, made it a standout.
The exterior embraces styling cues of previous Squadron models, with a triple-fin detail incorporated into the superstructure aft quarters. It also boasts the highly desirable ‘Beach Club’ option – a first for Fairline – which consists of hydraulic fold-down balconies on both the port and starboard sides. When not in use, the bathing platform can be used to hold a tender and when desired, it remotely extends doubling in length and submerges into the water allowing plenty of space for sun loungers.
In another first for Fairline, the cockpit and saloon are separated by an angled patio door, which ensures the flybridge staircase does not encroach into either the cockpit or interior space. The lower deck, meanwhile, is designed with three cabins and two heads. The mid-master cabin comes complete with a king-sized bed, a port side sofa, and plenty of storage space. Finally, the new Squadron 58 is powered by twin Volvo D13-900 shaft drive engines, with a Volvo D13-1000 upgrade available.
