Our Favourite Fragrances That Smell Like a Summer Escape

All-new summer fragrances released in the last two months that we can’t get out of our heads.
By now, we’re all aware of how our noses are linked with our memories and how closely tied our olfactory system is to our brains. And this is why a spritz of jasmine and apricots can immediately transport us to the sun-drenched Riviera, or why vetiver reminds us of summer rain, or why we think of seaside walks when we smell vanilla layered with ozonic notes.
New to the Gucci Flora Collection is the Gucci Flora Gorgeous Orchid Eau de Parfum, a scent made in the name of femininity and empowerment, meant to inspire ladies to dream and live life as they please – much like Gucci ambassador Miley Cyrus herself. Central to the new perfume is vanilla, its familiar sweetness bolstered by middle notes of Vanilla Orchid, but punctuated with an ozonic base that hints at a seaside breeze, or damp earth after a summer shower. A creamy floral infused with an aquatic freshness, the Gucci Flora Gorgeous Orchid is a perfect addition to your summer top shelf.
Dior dresses three of its signature scents in couture cases inspired by the Dioriviera 2024 collection just in time for summer. Cloaked in vibrant orange is the Jasmin des Anges, a sun-drenched scent of honeyed apricots and heady jasmine.
What does Hong Kong smell like? If you ask Le Labo, it’s Bigarade 18. The city exclusive scent is a contemporary mix of bergamot and neroli petals, underlined with musks and wood, evoking classic smells of florals and citruses in our fragrant harbour.
Louis Vuitton captures photosynthesis in a bottle with the LVERS fragrance, Pharrell Williams’s first fragrance for the house: a golden nectar of fresh grass, warm earth and forest trees. You can purchase it with the travel case in the distinct Damoflage motif.
Before it was named the Grass Collection, it was called something else – but Malin+Goetz’s newly interpreted scent is just as verdant and uplifting, as herbaceous and wild as before, with notes of bergamot, black pepper,
leafy accords and cedarwood.
It’s Chanel No 5 as you know it but – and for the first time ever – not in the bottle as you know it. The limited-edition No 5 L’Eau, shaped like a water droplet, becomes an object of desire and an instant collectible.
Imagine waking up at daybreak to the sound of a babbling stream, and scents of Mediterranean thyme wafting through your open window. Serge Lutens successfully captures this in Point du Jour. If waking up smelled this good, we’d all be morning people.
