The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is back with season 2 which continues to showcase the struggle of the habitants of Middle-earth against Dark Lord Sauron. The prequel ser iesto to J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings is set in the Second Age thousands of years before the tale of movie trilogy characters such as Frodo Baggins, Samwise Gamgee, Aragorn, Legolas and the rest and their War of the Ring (which occurred at the end of the Third Age). With a weekly release, here’s The Rings of Power season 2 episode release schedule and other details like release date, cast and more.
The Rings of Power is not based on any particular Tolkien fantasy novel. Rather, it takes most of its material from the appendices and other writings of the author.
In season 1 of The Rings of Power, Halbrand (played by Charlie Vickers, also known for the historical drama series Medici that originally aired from 2016 to 2019), the human companion of Elf warrior Galadriel (played by Morfydd Clark, British actress otherwise best known for the 2019 horror movie, Saint Maud), was revealed to be none other than Sauron in disguise all along. Now, Elves know not only is the Dark Lord back, but he is gathering power and there will soon be another war in Middle-earth.
Led by Morfydd Clark and Charlie Vickers, the show also features Daniel Weyman as the Stranger, Robert Aramayo as Elrond, Owain Arthur as Durin IV, Markella Kavenagh as Elanor “Nori” Brandyfoot, Ismael Cruz Córdova as Arondir, Cynthia Addai-Robinson as Míriel, Maxim Baldry as Isildur, Lloyd Owen as Elendil, Sophia Nomvete as Disa, Benjamin Walker as Gil-galad and more.

The first three episodes of The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power season 2 will be released on 29 August on Amazon Prime Video. The rest will be released on every subsequent Thursday.
Like season 1, season 2 of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power season 2 will also have 8 episodes.
