Luckily for him, second-placed Lando Norris fared poorer in Austria, meaning that the Belgian driver extended his lead on the driver’s standings by over 80 points.

Max Verstappen will enter the British Grand Prix 2024 as its defending champion.
According to its schedule, the British Grand Prix 2024 will kick-start with the Practice 1 race on Friday, 5 July (7:30 PM SGT). The hour-long race will be followed by a second practice session, or the Practice 2 race (11 PM SGT).
On Saturday, 6 July, the drivers will roll out for the final practice race, Practice 3, in the first session (6:30 PM SGT). After this, the Qualifying race for the British Grand Prix 2024 will take place later that day (10 PM SGT). The results of the Qualifying race will set the grid for the main event.
The final or the main race will be held on Sunday, 7 July (10 PM SGT onwards).
Besides the on-track action, the British Grand Prix 2024 has a star-studded lineup for its concert throughout this weekend.
The famous Opening Concert, which will be held on Thursday, 4 July, will be headlined by multi-Grammy-wining alternative rock band Kings of Leon. In addition, the four-day festival will feature Stormzy on Friday, Pete Tong Presents Ibiza Classics on Saturday and Rudimental on Sunday.

The British Grand Prix 2024 will be held at the iconic Silverstone Circuit in Silverstone, Northamptonshire, England. This track, which opened in 1948, is 5.9 kilometres long and boasts a capacity of 160,000 spectators.
According to an official report, the circuit will host the British Grand Prix till 2034.
